Multiple cars per box — the value choice for batch export

Containerized vehicle export with professional racking and lashing fits 2–4 units per 40HQ. The sealed steel box protects against theft, weather and handling damage, making it ideal for batch cars, CKD kits and high-value vehicles bound for ports without RORO service.

Shanghai SIDAJA Supply Chain Co., Ltd. provides pre-stowage design, certified securing materials and supervised stuffing with full photo records. For buses, trucks and oversized machinery that exceed container dimensions, we engineer flat rack OOG solutions with lifting and lashing plans approved by the carrier before loading.

Container & Flat Rack FAQ

The questions our clients ask most about containerized vehicle loading

How many cars fit in a 40HQ container?
Normally 2 SUVs or 3 sedans per 40HQ; with professional racking, up to 4 compact sedans can be loaded. The exact number depends on vehicle dimensions and wheelbase — we confirm it with a stowage plan designed for your models before stuffing, so you know the per-unit freight cost upfront.
Will container lashing damage my cars?
No. We use nylon straps and dunnage applied only at tire and chassis load points — never on body panels — following carrier and terminal securing standards. Before/after photos are taken for every unit, so you can verify the condition and the securing method for each vehicle in the box.
What cargo suits flat rack shipping?
Flat racks suit cargo exceeding container inner dimensions — buses, trucks, machinery and industrial equipment. With no side walls or roof, out-of-gauge cargo is loaded by crane or forklift under an engineered lifting and lashing plan, then secured and tarped for the voyage. We arrange the plan, carrier approval and port handling end to end.
Container or RORO — which is more cost-effective?
It depends on volume and destination. For small batches, destinations without RORO service, high-value vehicles or cargo needing sealed protection, containers are usually better. For large volumes of driveable vehicles on RORO-served lanes, RORO is cheaper per unit. Send us your shipment details and we will quote both options for comparison.
Can electric vehicles go by container?
Yes. Containerized EVs follow the same UN3171 declaration and carrier pre-check as RORO. Some carriers actually accept containerized EVs more readily than RORO, making it a useful fallback lane. We handle the DG pre-check, document checklist and carrier approval before booking.
How do I confirm my vehicles were loaded safely?
Every shipment comes with per-unit loading and lashing photos, VIN records and the container seal number, all taken by our on-site supervisor at stuffing. After departure you receive the B/L and tracking details, so the full chain from yard to vessel is documented.
